Palma Marathon is founder and member of the Mediterranean Marathon League created in 2023.

Our league brings together some of the most iconic and exhilarating marathon races in the Mediterranean region. The races included in the league are:

• March: Logicom Cyprus Marathon – Pafos, Cyprus.
• April: Alexander the Great International Marathon – Thessaloniki, Greece.
• October: Palma Marathon Mallorca  – Mallorca, Spain.
• November: Maratona di Palermo – Sicily, Italy.

These races have been carefully selected to be part of the Mediterranean Marathon League due to their exceptional qualities and shared characteristics. Each race is located in a Mediterranean coastal city, offering participants the chance to run close to the breathtaking sea, surrounded by the beauty of these popular tourism destinations.

Moreover, these marathons boast a rich cultural history, allowing runners to immerse themselves in the heritage of each city as they conquer the marathon challenge. Organizing quality marathons is a top priority for each event, and we are proud to announce that all the marathons in our league are licensed by the AIMS association, ensuring the highest standards of excellence.

At the heart of our initiative lies the spirit of collaboration and exchange. The Mediterranean cities share cultural convergences, making it natural for us to foster a relationship based on friendship and the exchange of common experiences. We aim to promote the exchange of professional expertise in managing marathon events, as well as encompassing technical, tourism, and marketing aspects.

Our ultimate goal is to propel tourism through marathons, offering a compelling alternative to the traditional major marathons. Therefore, improving on the investment made into sports tourism from local authorities and boards.

In addition, we actively seek commercial partners interested in supporting the Mediterranean area and its vibrant Marathon events. The league will engage in common promotion at expos and advertising materials of each marathon, further elevating the profile of these fantastic races.
